National Bureau of Statistics communicates data on the activity of public water supply and sewerage systems in 2024.

Public water supply systems

In 2024, the total length of aqueducts and public water distribution networks amounted to 21,6 thousand km and, compared to the previous year, expanded by 3,0% or 561,0 km of newly built networks (with 52,2 km in urban areas and 506,8 km in rural areas). Of the total length, 21,0 thousand km belong to systems put into operation, and 0,6 thousand km - to systems not put into operation but serving the population. The highest share of the length of newly built aqueducts and public networks was recorded in the localities of the North region - 303,9 km (54,2%) and the Centre region - 140,4 km (25,0%).
